The Department of Information Technology started its journey from the Academic Year 2005-06. It is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is affiliated to GTU (Gujarat Technological University, Gandhinagar). The Department is currently having five permanent lecturers recruited through UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) from various parts of the country. The intake capacity is of 60 students. Presently there are two laboratories in the Department and two more laboratories are proposed to be set up. Recently, Department of IT filed and published one Patent titled “System for Monitoring and Control of Surrounding environment and process in Chemical Plants using IoT Sensors” in Intellectual Property India, Office of the Controller General of Patents, Design and Trade Marks, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The patent application number 202021019732 was filed on 10 of May 2020. Also, three of IT department members contributed in design specification and testing of Central Online Admission Portal for all three Polytechnic of DNH and DD. Under the Guidance of IT faculty members, more than 40 students clears the Google Digital Marketing Certification. IT department students and faculty dedicatedly worked in COVID19 pandemic duration as volunteer.
Vision of the Department:
To create a knowledge pool of Information Technology professionals by providing a learning platform to students and thereby providing a good quality education to all.
Mission of the Department:
To mould the students into responsible citizens & competent professionals by imparting contemporary technical skills and social ethics, build a domain knowledge base at the department level in order to give an impetus to development activities and thereby contributing towards the development of Information Technology field.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
PEO-I Preparation: To prepare students to succeed in the employment/profession and/or to pursue graduation in Information Technology discipline in particular and allied Engineering discipline in general.
PEO-II Core Competence: To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to formulate, analyze and solve engineering problems requiring knowledge of Information Technology.
PEO-III Breadth: To prepare students with engineering breadth to innovate, design, and develop software products and to contribute in providing solutions related to multidisciplinary real life problems.
PEO-IV Professionalism: To inculcate in students, professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills and team work to become a successful professional.
PEO-V Learning Environment: To provide students with an academic environment that makes them aware of excellence and lifelong learning in emerging technologies.
